Park Junction Resort Home Concepts

Sustainability
We are going for a green design. We hope to set an example for sustainable resort design with this project. All windows have high performance glazing. Motorized clear story and skylight windows encourage natural ventilation from modern double hung windows below. Windows are positioned for maximum cross ventilation as well. Ceiling fans provide additional comforting breezes.
Whenever possible, “green” materials are used, such as certified wood, solid surface counter tops made from recycled material and low VOC paint. Construction waste can be recycled too.
All plumbing fixtures and electrical appliances are highly efficient, using less water and energy. This is not only good for the environment, but is great for saving the owners money on utility bills.
Architecture
The architecture of the houses will embrace a sophisticated Northwest vernacular. The design incorporates exposed wood and stone, covered porches, open floor plans and an abundance of natural light. Some of the inspiration comes from mountain homes as well as local ranches. The three floor plans give a variety of living options and attempt to create a separation between gathering spaces and sleeping rooms. The designs also attempt to bring the outside in with large windows with great views and doors to outside decks and landscapes.
The exteriors will have shingled cedar siding or board and batten and wood trim, stone veneer fireplaces and accents, clad wood windows and metal roofs. Deep roof overhangs protect the wood siding, as well as heavy timber columns, beams and trusses. Exterior decks are designed with low maintenance, recycled “wood.”
Inside the residence there is an abundance of exposed wood. The timber structures flow from the exterior to the interior. In the main living spaces there are cathedral ceilings with exposed wood decks. The walls are painted drywall with wood accents. Floors are a combination of wood and stone and stone and gas fireplaces will be clad in real stone. The interior of the windows are wood with a clear finish. The bathrooms have ceramic tile floors and custom cabinets. The kitchens have custom wood cabinets, stone counter tops and stainless steel accents.
